A Weekend of Aerobatics, Fire Brigades and Fireworks
As soon as we arrived, it was clear that this weekend would be all about aviation. There was plenty to discover at the Königsdorf Gliding Centre: model aircraft, glider aerobatics and historic planes showcased different facets of flying. The vintage aircraft in the air created those special moments when your gaze automatically turns skyward. ✈️ Alongside the flying displays, it was the encounters away from the airfield that stayed with us. Daniel gave us fascinating insights into the Königsdorf volunteer fire brigade. Personal impressions like these often make an outing particularly memorable, revealing just how much dedication and community spirit lie behind an event. Many thanks for that—and also to Jay for the time we shared. In the evening, our attention shifted once again from the airfield to the sky. The grand fireworks display set to music became another highlight of the weekend and, for us, was among the most beautiful and longest displays we have experienced so far. 🎆 The Königsdorf Airfield Festival showed us that outdoor experiences can take many forms. This time, our path did not lead to a summit, but to a place where enthusiasm, technology and air sports came together—and where the sky took centre stage for an entire weekend.

Our outing took us to the airfield festival at the Königsdorf Gliding Centre in Tölzer Land. The focus was on the event grounds, the flying displays and insights into the world of air sports and the Königsdorf volunteer fire brigade. Personal note
What we will remember most is the special mix this weekend offered: historic aircraft in the sky, fascinating conversations on site and, to round it all off, fireworks set to music. It was also wonderful to share this time with Jay and to learn more about the Königsdorf volunteer fire brigade from Daniel.
