Seenachtsfest in Konstanz and a Lake Constance Road Trip

A warm and sunny weekend at Lake Constance: We took the car ferry from Meersburg to Konstanz for Seenachtsfest 2026. Music, a surprise reunion with friends and an atmospheric evening of fireworks and a drone show awaited us there. After a night in the car, we crossed the lake again the next morning before following the shoreline all the way to Lindau.

Tour report

A Summer Weekend Between Konstanz and Lindau

The journey there was already part of the weekend. We drove onto the car ferry from Meersburg to Konstanz, leaving everyday life a little farther behind with every metre we crossed on Lake Constance. Once in Konstanz, a special personal moment took centre stage: meeting Jay and Daniel, which came as a genuine surprise to Jay. Seenachtsfest 2026 had a lively yet relaxed summer atmosphere. Felix Jähn and other artists performed across the various stages. Later, all eyes turned to the sky above Konstanz: fireworks and a drone show brought the evening to an impressive close and became some of the standout moments of the weekend. We spent the night in the car—simple, uncomplicated and camping-style ⛺. The next morning, we started with a light breakfast and coffee from the bakery in the hospital. Another lovely surprise followed on the car ferry back to Meersburg, where we unexpectedly ran into friends. From Meersburg, the weekend turned into a little road trip along the shores of Lake Constance. We stopped in Langenargen for a short walk and something to eat at Bäckerei Ulmer. Then we continued to Nonnenhorn, where we swam at the lakeside lido, relaxed and enjoyed the warm summer day. Of course, an ice cream was a must. We ended the trip in Lindau with a walk around the island and a refreshing drink. Sunny weather, warm temperatures and plenty of relaxed moments created a true holiday feeling right to the very end.

Moment

A weekend full of unexpected encounters, warm summer moments and relaxed hours right by Lake Constance.

Route

The route.

We travelled by car to Meersburg and took the car ferry from there to Konstanz. After visiting Seenachtsfest and spending the night in the car, we returned to Meersburg by ferry the next morning. The road trip then followed the shores of Lake Constance via Langenargen and Nonnenhorn to Lindau Island.

Personal note

What we will remember most is the special mix that made up this weekend: the successful surprise for Jay, Seenachtsfest, the night in the car and the unexpected encounter on the ferry. There was also swimming, ice cream, walks and plenty of time by the water. A wonderful area that we would return to at any time.
