Taking the Ferry into Island Life
The day began in Kavala with the ferry crossing to Thassos. As the mainland slowly receded behind us, the view opened out across the sea. The sun, the wind and the journey over the water created that special feeling that accompanies an island trip from the very first minute. 🌊 On Thassos, we made our way to Golden Beach. There, pale sand and clear water met a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. There was no need for an elaborate plan: simply arrive, gaze out across the Aegean and slow down for a while. It was the combination of the crossing and the beach that made the day so special. The ferry was not just a way of reaching the island, but already part of the experience. Golden Beach then became the peaceful summer moment we remember from Thassos.

Route
The route.
Our starting point was Kavala. From there, we crossed the sea by ferry to Thassos. The destination for our day on the island was Golden Beach.
Personal note
What stayed with us most was the transition from the ferry crossing to the tranquillity of Golden Beach. First travelling across the open water, then walking barefoot on the pale sand and looking out over the Aegean – it was precisely these simple moments that made the day.
